DIOCESAN COUNCIL. The Diocesan Council of the Church of England Men'* Society met in St. John'a Schoolroom last evening. The Rev. F. Dunnage wai elected chairman for the ensuing year, and Mr Oppenheim hon. secretary. ® Apologies for absence were received from the Rev. R. de Lambert and Mr S. "R. Cuming. It was decided to notify the branches of changes made in the constitution. The halfyearly rally of members was fixed for September 19th, and Professor Shelley is to be aßked to speak. Arrangements were made for the annual service and breakfast on Labour Day, October 28th. A delegation was appointed to visit parishes where possible, to co-operate with and to strengthen the various branches, and establish new branches where desired. It was resolved to hold meetings for united study on Christian faith and practice, and the relation of the C.E.M.S. to questions of the day, the meetings to be held in St. John's Schoolroom on the second and fourth Mondays in each month, beginning on September 9th.
