PIONEER SPORTS CLUB.
* MEETING OF COMMITTEE. At * meeting of the Executive Committee of the Pioneer Sports Club Mr Peter Memies presided. Mr C. S. Thomas wrote accepting the position of vice-president, and forward ing cheque for £1 Is towards the funds of the club. The question of promoting a mardi gras festival was discussed, and a sub-committee consisting of Messrs C. H. Taylor, A. Donaldson, G. Henderson, R. Cordery, T. Marker, and C. Fisk was appointed to draw op a programme and report as to the most suitable j ground and date for holding the festival, such report to be submitted to a joint meet--1 ing of the various committees of the club. The Motor Committee reported having applied for a permit for a track race meeting for November 2nd. and for permission to run the New Zealand middle-weight grass championship thereat, also that the opening run would be heid on October 6th to Waihora Park. Messrs R. Wallace, A_ Donaldson, and T. Marker were appointed members of the House Committee. The cash statement for July was presented and approved. The following new members were elected: Messrs E. J. Wisker, L .Hamlin. F. Upston. D. T Withers, T. G. Kennedy, L. L. Walker, K. W. Barrows, C. R. Holland, T. Champion, and W. J. O'Niell.
