RUGBY LEAGUE.

MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. Tho Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Football Leagrie met last night, Mr J. K. Worrall presiding. The secretary (Mr S. M. Richardson) reported that he had sent tho League's good wishes to the Australian League team which will tour England tins season. The Auckland League had been advised that August 24th would bo a suitable date for a representative match at Auckland. The AutK.iUid Le.ijat wrote regarding the match with Canterbury m Auckland, that it had been decided that if Auckland were the holders of the Northern Union Cup on the day of the match, the match must be for the cuy. Should Auckland lose it in the meantime the League would be willing to treat tho match as a representative fixture. Mr Worrall was appointed manager of the Canterbury team which will travel to Auckland, and Mr F. Sheuhan was appointed fiuanrial manager. Tho Town Clerk (Mr J. S. Neville) wrote thut ha had been directed by the Reserves Committee of the City Council to inform the League that tho Superintendent of Reserves had drawn its attention to the fact that on recent Saturday afternoons, when many of tho City parks were under water, matches had been played in spite of the orders of the caretakers of the parks. Caretakers had been authorised to forbid the playing of such games, if, in their opinion, the ground was unfit to be played on. The matron of Kannerdale Home wrote thanking the League for two passes issued to the Home. The Canterbury League's delegate on the New Zealand Council reported that the Council had received from England an agreement form suggesting that no player of an; touring side should be allowed to play in another country until twelve months after returning from the trip. The New Zealand Council had a much better and more drastic proposition, and would have a better idea if effect could be given to it, on hearing further from Australian team managers when the latter arrived in England. In the meantimo the agreement was held over. A visit of a New Zealand team to Australia next season was certain. The North League, recently established in the North Auckland district, reported great progress in the code. Schoolboys' Team. For selection of the Canterbury schoolboys' representative team to play against the West Coast for the Norman Cox Cup at Greyinouth on August Slst, it was decided that a Posibles v.
