BECKENHAM BURGESSES' ASSOCIATION.
Mr J. A. Ayers presided at last evening'# meeting of the Beckenham Burgesses' Association. It was decided to write to the City Council asking what was the position regarding the widenuing of Sandwich road. It was resolved that the City Council be asked to permit tra c inspectors to enter the Beckenharn-Fisherton district to control traffic. It was agreed to draw the attention of the City Engineer to the state of Martin avenue between Birdwood avenue and Eastern terrace Mr Carlisle asked what was beinj: done ir regard to completing the sewerage in the district. The Drainage Board had not replied to the Association's letter enquiring when thf machinery was to be installed in the pumping stations. It was decided to refer the matter to the United Burgesses' Association, with the request that that body take the matter up. It wtv3 resolved to forward letters of sympathy to Messvs Lewis and Foster, residents of Beckenharn, who were bo*h eenously ill.
