EXCITING AIR MISHAP.

FLYERS' NARROW ESCAPE. PROPELLER BLADES BROKEN. (moras press assomatioh—bs emctbic Tat,3IBA?H—COPYBIOHT.) VANCOUVER, July 9At Atlanta four flyers had a hairbreadth escape at an altitude of 1000 feet. Two pilots went aloft in each of two aeroplanes for the purpose of demonstrating that the landing Rear could be changed in the air. Bonnie Rowe climbed out of the cockpit of aeroplane No. 1 and, hanging by his feet from the wing ; pulled off a wheel and tossed it back into the cockpit. He then signalled aeroplane No. 2 to lower him another wheel. Things went splendidly till a gust of wind caught the rope, carrying the new wheel into the propeller of aeroplane No. 1. smashing the blades, and dragging the aeroplanes together. One pilot cut the rope with his pocket knife, the machines veered apart and the propeller'.ess aeroplane carefully glided mto a cotton field, but while they descended Rowe climbed into the cockpit, retrieved the wheel, and in the last 100 feet above the ground fastened it into position. His companion glided to a perfect landing. Their friends in aeroplane No. 2 were still aloft anxiously watching them. — United Service.
