CANTERBURY UNION. OLD BOYS V. CHRISTCHURCH. The senior competition is cow in a most interesting 3tate with Merivale and Old Boys at the top of the ladder, and Albion, Christchurch, and 'Varsity in a handy position. Old Boys have yet to meet the stronger teams, and it looks very much as if the ultimate winner will not be disclosed for some time. The Old Boys team seems to have struck form, giving a particularly convincing display against West at the Show Grounds last Saturday. They will need to be right on their game against Chriitchurch, who are very hard to beat on the Oval. Many people are inclined to think that the Red and Blacks will win, ' a result which will make the contest still more interesting. Merivale rlay Linwcod on the south ground. This 3hould be a very even game with a victory for the Greens within the bounds of possibility. Albion meet West Old Bovs on the west ground. At the Show Ground's, 'Varsity are set down to play Sydenham, and on the No. 2 ground the senior B teams of Christchurch and Kaiapoi will try conclusions. The curtain-raiser at Lancaster Park will be supplied by teams from the senior B competition. Old Boys, who are leading, will meet Training College.
