BECKENHAM SCHOOL.
tt» monthly meeting of the Beckenham School Committee was held on Monday. Present: Messrs S. B. Evison (chairman), H. C. Campbell, F. J. Colmer, J. H. Harris, C. 34. Kirby F. H. Hintrom, H. A. Purvee, W. H. SinitA, sad P. 31. Veivia. 'lho headmaster reported that the number on the roll was 531 and the average attendance 503.6. A oollection bad been taken in support ol the Earthquake Relief Fund, and the children had contributed £lO 17s 2d. A letter was reeeived from the City Council stating that the application foi a basketball ground to be laid down ia Beckenham Park had been referred to the Reserves Committee for a report. It was unanimously agreed to support tha resolution before the Canterbury School Committees' Association protesting against the extension of dental services to private schools until adequate services have been provided for State schools. A tender ««■ accepted for work to be done in the school plantation, and it was decided to proceed with the placing of two 51 foot forms in fixed positions along the north wall of the school It waa decided to hold the next school concert at the end of the present term. Messrs Smith and Eviaon were appointed a Visiting Committee.
