PROMOTED A LOTTERY.
(press association tblegkam.) AUCKLAND, July 9. Yesterday three officials of the Takapuna Boating Club were prosecuted under the Gaming Act in connexion with a lottery at the Winter Show. This morning the police said that it had been represented that the club was an incorporated society. If the club were prosecuted the Dolice were agreeable to the withdrawal of the individual charges, whereon the Magistrate (Mr Hunt) fined the club £l, and dismissed the charges against the officials.
