WALTHAM PARK.
SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENTS. Six members of the St. Martins Burgesses' Association met the Superintendent of Parks and Reserves, Mr M. J. Barnett, recently, to discuss improvements to Waltharo park. Among the suggestions outlined by Mr Barnett were removing the fences surrounding the Park in Bunyan, Wilcox, and Domett streets, that a double row of ribbonwood trees be placed round the Park, and that the fence be left facing Langdown street, in order to prevent children from running out on to the tramlines. It was also suggested that hedges be placed on each side of the gates and ornamental shrub beds placed there, and that a hedge be placed round the conveniences. Mr Barnett * l *° drew attention to the fact that the pegs were in for the site of the ,j a ? rotunda, the work on which would M earried out shortly.
