NEW YORK, July 8,

A combined air and rail passenger service, enabling the journey from New York to Los Angele3 to be made in 46 hours, became an actuality to-night, when an aeroplane of the Pennsylvania system moved off from the railway platform bearing a dozen passengers. Colonel Lindbergh, in LO3 Angeles, pressed the button which started the first aeroplane from New York. The passengers will spend the time sightseeing aboard the aeroplane and alternately sleeping aboard the trains. They will cross the continent in two days. —United Service.
