BRITISH OFFICERS HONOURED.

RESCUE OF SPANISH AIRMEN. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.) (Received July 7th, 11 p.m.) MADRID, July 6. The officers of H.M.S. Eagle were to-day presented with the Order of Naval Merit in recognition of the rescue of Major Franco's party. The Minister for Marine made the presentations in the presence of General Prinio de Rivera and members of the Cabinet, generals, admirals, airmen, and British representatives. General de Rivera later attended a luncheon in the rescuers' honour, at which the healths of King George and King Alfonso were drunk. —Australian Press Association.
