SOCCER SOCIAL.

A very enjoyable social evening was recently spent by the members of the Sumner Soccer Club and their friends at the residence of Mr Phillips. Dryder street, Sumner. The evening was devoted to various competitions for prizes given by Mr Geo. Murray, the best scores being secured by Mrs Cyril Allen, Miss Mabel Dacre. Mr McGarry. and Mr Melville Willis. SILVER WEDDING.

At the Hoi el Ambassadors the silver wedding of Mr and Mrs Tom Sleeman. the popular proprietors of the hotel, was celebrated by a gathering of friends in their honour. A sumptuous supper was served in the artistically decorated dining-room, the beautiful wedding cake having been made and decorated by Mrs Drury. Mr Bay Kemn proposed the health "of the bride and bridegroom, and Mr E. A. Wilson proposed the health of the absent member cf the family. Mr Alan Sleeman, who is in Canada. Mr and Mrs Sleeman were the recipients of manv handsome presents from triends and admirers.
