QUARTERLY MEETING. i ! The quarterly gathering of the Canterbury Pilgrims' Association was held on Saturday afternoon in the Art Gallery and was well attended. Mr J. A. Flesher, who presided, expressed the gratification of the committee with so big an attendance in view of conditions, which were not the most promising. Since their previous gathering, be said, t lie re had been several gaps made in their ranks, the following members having passed awav: Mr W. S. Lovell-Smith, Misa K. "Wilson, Mrs M. Rosindale, and Mrs M. Banks. Already the sympathy of the Association had been conveyed to the relatives. Mr Wm. Smart, Rocklands. Havelock North, wrote apologising for his absence and stating that distance was the obstacle. The Rev. P. G. Brittan also expressed regret for being unable to be present. Apologies for absence also were received Irom Mrs R. J. Whitehead, Waikuku, the Rev. C". A. Fraer Mr ; C. H. Bridge, and Mrs R. Meredith. J The programme was as follows: Songs "Not Understood," ''My Task," and "Big Ladv Moon." Miss Svlvia Marshall; songs. "Old Folks at Home." "Mary," and "The Irish Emigrant." Mr D. Suckling; several recitations. some grave and some humorous, were given by" Miss Maiona Juriss, and the Avonside Quartette (Messrs M. Woodward, D. H. Davis. A. Kinvig, and A. Hard) gave ''Spring's Delight," "Ye Shepherds Tel! Me.' p "Little Tommy," and -'The Catastrophe."' The chairman referred to the fine gift of photographs of old Christclmrch made to the Association, and also ef other reminders of the days gone by. He wondered if many of the members of the Association had visited the room in the Municipal Buildings in which were storetl the Association's exhibits.
