The weather report for June aay» that with the exception of general rains between the 7th and 11th the weather was mainly fine and unusually mild up to the l&th. After that squally and boisterous weather was general, and the May deficiency was made up' Only a few place*, in Taranaki! Hawke's Bay, and North Auckland had less rain than the average. There were a few severe frost* and heavy rams maintained a good growth of vegetation. During the last week of the month strong winds were experienced, amonntms to gales. In the North Island the period was remarkable for the number of tornadoes that occurred. The most severe was at Palmerston North. Many plac&s recorded severe thuncier and hail, a number of stock were killed, and wsveral persons received shocks, two being rendered unconscious.
