USE OF THE FUND. R.S.A. SUGGESTS CONFERENCE. Arrangements are to be made for a conference to be held between the lie. turned Soldiers' Axsoti.itwn and the War Memorial Column Fund Committee, when the Association's suggestion that the fund be plHced in trust, and the interest used in the relief of returned soldiers, and their dependents, will be considered. The iaatter undiscussed at a meeting of the executive ot the Association lust night. It was decided that Messrs G. A. Hayden. S. F. Marshall, H. H. tioundy, VV. E. Leadley, E. \V. Cuddon, and V. II Holme* be set up as a sub-committee to go further into the question of the Association's request that the interest from the fund t>e utilised for finding employment for returned men. and for the relief of distress of returned men and their dei>endents on the lines suggested by Mr George Gould, chairman of the War Memorial Column Fund Committee, in -July last year Two members of the sub-committee were deputed to wait on Mr Gould, with a riew to the possibility of arranging a conference betveon the Association and the War Memorial Column Fund Committee.
