WEDDINGS.

BORRIE—MANCHESTER. In a beautiful setting of golden yellow chrysanthemums and autumn foliage, a marriage of great interest to a large circle of friends was solemnised in St. Paul's Church on Thursday, when Doris Vivien, second daughter of Mr and the late Mrs James xvlanchester, "Te Ra," Waimate was married to Donald, twin son of Mr and Mrs J. Borrie. Exeter street, \\ alulae Rev. W. Bramwell Scott was the '■ officiating minister, and Miss O. Cameron L.A.8., played the bridal music. The bridal couple stood under a wedding bell of yellow and white chrysanthemums. The bride was escorted by her father. Her frock of cream'satin and lace was made in Early Victorian style, with tight bodice and bouffant skirt worn ankle length. A wide vest of lace was inset in the bodice, and the long closefitting sleeves were of satin. Her veil of cream Limerick lace, falling to the hem of her frock, was caught at each side of the head with clusters of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of cream and yellow chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her cousin, Miss Eileen Dailey, who wore a jade green chiffon velvet and taffeta frock, the close-fitting bodice and long tight sleeves being of velvet, and the ankle length skirt, drooping at the sides, of alternate petals of velvet and taffeta. A wide-brimmed beige felt hat was trimmed with velvet, and she carried a sheaf of golden chrysanthemums and maidenhair.

Two little flower-girls—Vivien Ellis, niece of the bride, and June Manchester, wore dainty little frilled frocks of lemon net, and green poke bonnets, the two eolours being repeated* in their socks of lemon shade, and green satin shoes. They carried posiec of autumn shades. Mr Pat Manchester, brother of the bride, was best man. After the ceremony nearly one hundred guests were entertained at "Te Ra." The bride's sister, Mrs P. Ellis, of Timaru, received the guests, wearing a frock of golden brown celanese, and hat to tone, and stonemarten fur. Her bouquet was of golden brown chrysanthemums and autumn leaves. The bridegroom's mother wore a mole crepe de chine dress under a mole coat and hat to match, and carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums and maidenhair. The marquee was decorated with lemon, green, and beige streamers, chrysanthemums and autumn foliage, and the tables with bowls of chrysanthemums and autumn foliage, and the wedding bell which hung in the church was suspended over the bride and groom. Rev. Mr Scott presided and the customary toasts were honoured. Many congratulatory telegrams from various parts of the Dominion were read. Later in the day when the happy couple left on their honeymoon in the south, the bride was wearing a brown facecloth costume, smart brown felt hat to match, and brown fur necklet. AT DIXIELAND. On Saaurday evening the ballroom at Dixieland Cabaret was again crowded with enthusiatstic dancers. A programme of music, introducing many new numbers, was given by the popular Dixieland Orchestra. The supper room and lounges were very prettily decorated with chrysanthemums and roses.
