A NOBLE HERITAGE.
HAGI.BY PARK AND GARDENS
"I welcome the new members," said Mr George Harper, chairman of the Domains Board at the first meeting of the recently appointed Board yesterday, "and I am sure that they will find the work most interesting. "It is by no means a small area that the Board administers—l 46 acres, not including the Botanic Gardens. It is a. big asset to the City. . . . The original intention was that it Bhould be for the benefit of the people of the province of Canterbury. We have a very great task befflr us in administering this most beautiful, this big and valuable asset, for the benefit of the people of the province." In accordance with Mr Harper's expressed wish that an early opportunity should be afforded the new members to make a tour of inspection of the parks and gardens, such a tour has been arranged for next Saturday.
