LINWOOD CLUB.

NEW YEAR TOURNAMENT. Owing to the unfavourable weather on NewYear's Day the Linwood Bowling Club 6 annual rinks tournament had to be confined to one day, it having been a scheduled two-days tourney. However, perfect weather favoured the bowlers yesterday» although the green was slow and heavy after the previous day fl rain. The tournament was commenced at 8.30 a.m., and was continued till 8 p.m., five rounds of two hours each being played. A most enjoyable day was spent by the bowlers. who were representative of nearly all the Christchurch clubs. The Christchurch Club rink, skippered by Dr. Marks, proved successful, winning in all five rounds. Two rinks tied for second place, each witji one lose, and in the playoff of seven 'heads, Canterbury (Ives s.) beaf United (Watson s.) by 11 points to 4. Results FIRST ROUND.
