MOTOR-RACE MEETING.
NEW BRIGHTON TROTTING GROUNDS.
A further contingent of riders who intend competing at the motor-cycle race meeting to be held by the Pioneer Sports Club on Saturday afternoon at the New Brighton Trotting Grounds reached the City yesterday, and went for a trial spin over the course last evening, and put up some very good times. A large number of the local ridera joined in for a preliminary, and did some very teat times. Considerable intereat is being takes in the meeting of the atare in the provincial championship of eight miles, in which tne following well-known speed kings will take part:—Tui Morgan (Greytown). Reg. Rao"? (Te Arohs), H. W. Tolley (Feilding), lan Spenee (Auckland), Tim Wilkinson and w. Kitaiater (Wellington), F. R. Cross (Timaru), R. J. Hore, W. G. Thomas, Ernie Marsh, Jack Carter, T. R. MeClesry, D. H. Shaw, and ff 0. Riley (Chriatehureb). This contest should prove a thriller. In addition there are eight other star items. The first event is timed to start at 2 p.m., end as special trams will run to and from tne grounds during the afternoon there should oe si bumner aitanduu*
