thb domestic troubles of the Australian Seamen's Union became accentuated hi the week-end when the chief clerk of the Federal Secretary's office, Mr R. Hack, withdrew and transferred to the State Secretary's office with his books and papers. • , Mr Tom Walsh is incensed. He declares that Mr Hack has automatically sacked himself, and that somebody else will be appointed. .. The Jacob JohrtsOn faction of the Sydney branch held a meeting among themselves, and despatched- Mr Peter McKeftinn to Adelaide to supersede the local secretary, M? C. Woodsford, who is a Walsh supporter, but the members there are giving Mr McKernan the cold shoulder. The battle is not concluded.—Australian Press Association.
