WEDDING.

STEWART—COX. At St. Mary-'a Church, Merivale, yesterday afternoon, the marriage was solemnised of Helen Barbara, eldest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr Percy Cox, and Gordon Drummond, younger son of Mr and Mrs W. D. Stewart, of Wellington. As the bride is the great-grand-daughter of the late Bishop Harper, whose family has been associated with the history of the province since its settlement, more than usual kindly interest centred round the wedding. The church was beautifully decorated with arum lilies, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. N. Blakiston, a relative of the bride, assisted by Archdeacon P. B. Haggitt, Mr A. Worsley acting as organist. The bride, who was escorted by lier uncle, Mr Sandford Cox, wore an attractive frock of white georgette, with plain bodice, and circular skirt, and a wide sash of taffeta with large bow at one side. Her train of georgette added to the charmingly dainty effect, and her tulle veil fell from a chaplet of orangd blossom. Her bouquet was of white roses and lilies of the valley. She was attended by a quartet •of bridesmaids —Miss Mary Cox, the bride's sister, and Miss Norah Hoare, and two tiny girls, Dorothy Cox, the bride's sistqr, and Catherine. Dampier-Crossley, daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry DampierCrossley, of North Canterbury. Miss Mary Cox and Miss Hoare wore pretty frocks of primrose-yellow georgette with plain bodices, circular skirts, and narrow girdles, of blue velvet to match their shoes. Their becoming hats of primrose crinoline straw were banded with blue velvet, and tbey carried bouquets of yellow roses and blue delphiniums. The two small girls wore* lovely little sleeveless frocks of prim-, rose taffeta, with skirt frills and Peter Pari collars edged with blue. After the ceremony the i wedding reception was held at 12 Winchester street, the home of the. bride's -mother. Mrs Stewart, thß bridegroom's mother, wore mauve georgette arid hat to match. : Miss Helen Stewart,- the bridegroom 's T sister, wore a spotted crepe de chine frock and black straw hat. . The bride's smart travelling suit had a finely-pleated skirt of Stewart-tartan and a plain navy coat, worn with a hat of navy straw.
