MOTOR-RACE MEETING.
'■ : " ;r ' NEW BRIGHTON TROTTING TRACK. Further .additional entries were received/ by the Pioneer Sports Club yesterday for its track race -meeting- to be-held on the; New Brighton trotting ground next Saturday afternoon, which from present indications promises to be the most successful yet promoted by this clab. ' Many of the visiting riders were on .the track last evening with ~ a strong local .contingent, all of whom . spoke very highly of its condition. The chief event will be the provincial championship of eight miles, for which all the stßr , riders! have nominated; Mr A. J. Harper, who is in charge of the training operations, reports that some .very! fast times have been recorded, and that as the track Bhonld by Saturday, resemble a bowling.green, he fully expects to see more than one of the ■ existing records lowered. The first race is timed to start at 2 p.m. Special trams will' ran to and. from ;. the grounds during the afternoon, and with fine weather there should bea record attendance. • ,
