STAND 40 ON SHOW GROUND.
TO ASSIST THE BLIND. '
Most , people find great satisfaction in tihe operation commonly known an "killing two birds with one stone. 1 * A great opportunity to indulge in it to the fullest possible extent will be given all and sundry .who visit Stand No. 40 (on the left of the main entrance) at the Show Grounds to-mor-row and on Friday (People's Day) for they will be able to testify: to their practical sympathy with the inmates of »the Institute for the Blind, Auckland, and at the same time acquire at most reasonable prices jußt the article in basfcetware they require. Amongst the goods selected for the Christchurch Rotary Club's stall , (referred to above) by Rotarian C.E. Jones, who organised last year's successful display and sale ; and who* recently paid a special visit to the Institute, were luncheon and picnic hamEers or all sizes, suitable for motorists j askets •of all descriptions, dolls . prams, nut baskets, clothes baskets, soiled linen baskets, trays, and novelties in basketware of every kind To meet the convenience of purchasers, arrangements have been made to de-' liver goods- purchased at the stall if' the buyers cannot take their purchases with them ' i, # This display and is the manner , in which the members of the Rotary Club assist the worthy., cause of helping the blind to help themselves and; thereby lessen the monotony of their / lives. The proceeds will be handed to Mr Clutha Mackenzie, the director-of,-the Institute. At last year's Show, : with the co-operation of the publiq, a clean sweep wa<B made of all # thebasketware >on exhibition, and l't M > hoped this year to repeat that frratifying performance with ; the sympathetic support of the visitors to the Show
