LANDING THE 'PLANES.

WELLINGTON, November 6.
Commander Byrd and members of his party are about as busy as they can be in unloading, checking, and.storing the four 'planes, which will remain in store until the arrival of the two sailing ships. Although everything has been packed to obviate as much as possible repacking, the question of the weights of the packages will assume an entirely different complexion • when the material comes to be loaded into the two small vessels, as they have to be landed on the ice with a minimum possibility of damage and provide a maximum convenience for reassehlblage Under the difficult conditions that will prevail itt Antarctica.
