W.E.A. ACTIVITIES.
SUMMER SCHOOL ARRANGEMENTS.
Arrangements have been concluded for the Summer School of the Canterbury district of the W.E.A., which is to be held at Canterbury College, Christchurch, from Wednesday, December 26th, 1928, to January sth, 1929, Professor J. Shelley will be the director of the school, and will be assisted by Dr. C. E. Beeby and Mr J. Johnson. The subject for study is "The Nature of Progress, • Social, Cultural, and Industrial." Students will be permitted to use the College library, the Psychological Laboratory, Little Theatre, and lecture rooms. Women students will be accommodated in Bolleston House, and the men in the College gymnasium. Applications, accompanied by onrolment fee of ss, must reach the secretary not later than December 12th. The students of the Christchurch W.E.A. classes intend holding a picnic at Stewart's Gully on Friday. The following evening there will be a social gathering in the W.E.A. rooms. Towards the funds of the Canterbury district of the W.E.A. the Lyttelton Harbour Board has voted £lO 10s, the New Zealand Refrigorating Company, Ltd., £5 ss, and Mr T. J. Edmonds £5.
