The Holmdale is due this. morning from Wellington, -and is to sail thsi afternoon, taking cargo for Dunedin. . She is due/back «B Saturday, via Timaru, and will load here for Wellington and Wanganul. The Bimntaka is to sail7this afternoon for Tokomaru Bay to continue Homeward load-

The oil-tanker Voeo is expected this morning from Wellington. Sho will discharge benzine into the Vacuum Oil Company's tanks, and sails later for Dunedin. i -He Breeie is duo this morning from Timaru, and is to sail this afternoon with "35? for We l"»6»°n, Pieton, and Winganui. The Calm is expected this morning from the sonth. She loads for Wellington and Wanganui.

The John is due at Lyttelton to-morrow from Timaru. and will take in cargo for Wellington, Wanganui, and New Plymouth. it is doubtful if the Kennedy will arrive here to-day, as she has been delayed in the north. A message from the Matakana, en routo from Liverpool, states that she expects to arrive at Auckland at 6 o'clock to-night. Captain S. A. Chattel* has been appointed t» the command of the Kaponga, and Captain F. J. O. Jaunay has assumed command •f the Kanna.

The Tofua recommissioned at Auckland on Saturday after overhaul, and is in command •f Captain A. U. Prosser. His deck officers are:—Chief, Mr H. L. P. Brown; second, Mr L. Sinclair; third, Mr J. B. B. Broughton. Captain G. D. Frascr is now in command •f the WaipahJ, having relieved Captain G. B. Hoddinott for holidays. Mr S. C. Angus, chief officer of the Kaimai, 1» at .present awaiting orders at Wellington. Mr 6. W. Hodson has been appointed second oH!eer .of the JTaiwarra, in. place of Mr T. P. Evans, who has come ashore here. Mr J. J. Barnard has relieved Mr N. H. Pearson u second officer of the Katoa. The latter oScer is at present on leave at Auckland.

Mr J. Duncan has been appointed, second officer of the Balls Head in place of Mr A. Ha slam, who is now on holidays at Wellington.

Mr A.. W. Carnie is joining the Koranui as third officer at Sydney thiß week, relieving Mr D. A. Menlovo for holidays. The Hertford arrived at Wellington on Friday n/rning from Liverpool, via Auckland. She will leave there to-morrow afternoon for Lyttelton and New Plymouth. The Kasama, from New York, via Auckland, arrived at Wellington on Friday afternoon. She will leave Wellington on Thursday afternoon for Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Union Company advise that, owing to the Maheno arriving at Sydney a day late and also having to dock owing to the damage to her hull by the heavy weather she experienced, she did not leave Sydney until Saturday morning. , The vessel is duo at Wellington early to-morrow morning. A message was received on Friday by the Shaw, Savill, miff, Albion 00. from their liner lonic, which left Wellington on October 26th for- Southampton and London, reporting: "Southerly gale and heavy seas for first twenty-four hours out from Wellington. Weather fine since. All well." The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's motor-ship Karatnea arrived at Wellington on Friday from London, via Auckland, to put out the remainder of her cargo. The vessel is to leave Wellington next Thursday to load at Port Chalmers, Bluff, and Lyttelton, and then will return,, to Wellington. Sho is due back at - Wellington on November 22nd, and will sail from there on November 28th for Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland. The Karamea is due at Auckland, on December sth, and will sail finally from there on December Bth for London, via Panama. , ' The following passengers lor New Zealand were travelling in the P. and 0. liner Maloja, which* was due at Sydney from London on Thursday last:—For Auckland:Mr Bowley, Mr Langridge, Mr Muirhoad, MrMcConnell, Mrs Ryan, Miss Calvert, Mr Cox, Mrs Rose, Mr Buckingham.
