LATE MR J. C. ADAMS.
THE FUNERAL.
At the funeral of the late Mr Jonathan Charles Adams, which left for the Linwood Cemetery yesterday morning, there was a very large attendance of those who had been connected with him in his distinguished educational and scholastic career, the Canterbury Education Board, the Canterbury College Board of Governors, and the Chrißtchurch Boys' High School all being represented. The officiating minister at the Linwood Cemetery was the Rev. W. H. Oroell, Vicar of the Papanui Church. The pallbearers were Messrs J. S. Barrett, J. F. Gnerson, T. H. Davey, and A. E. Ridley (members of the Federal Club). Amongst (those who sent wreaths and floral tributes were:—Headmaster and staff of Christchurch Boys' ugh School; monitors and boys of Christr church Boys' High School, master and boys of Adams House, Christchurch Boys' High School; Mr and Mrs Murdoch McLeod, Mr and Mrs L. Pickles and family, Jones, McCrostie, and Co., Ltd., Mrs A. A. Bickerton, Mr Kennedy, and Mr Hans Kennedy, Mr and Mrs Charles Goldstone.
Amongst those present were: —Messrs T.A. Gates, J. B. Purchase, P. W. and A. E. Matthews, G. J. Lancaster, C. W. Colee, C. E. Jones, C. L. MoCrostie, A. Sherriss, W. P. Soper, G. 6. Jones, G. H. Mason, A. Dickson, R. Wallwork, L. F. Pegler, L. H, Booth, P. Selig, and the Hon.- Mr Smith, M.L.C.
