RUMANIAN CRISIS.
PEASANT PARTY ACTIVE. PRIME MINISTER RESIGNS. (TOITID PBESS ASSOCIATION—B? ELSCTMO TELEGBAPH —COPIEIGHT.) (Received November 4th, 5.5 p.m.) BUCHAREST, November 31 The Regency Council has accepted the resignation of the Prime Minister, M. Bratiano. M. Maniu is expected to be invited to form a Coalition. The Rumanian crisis is due to the Regency Council's insistence on. the formation of a National Government in which all parties will be represented. Excitement prevailed, as it was feared that if M. Bratianu refused, the Peasants' Party, under M. Maniu, would try to force the overthrow of his regime. The Peasants' . Party recently demanded free elections, declaring that the Government was in power solely through dishonest manipulation of the franchise. The Government's announcement on October 31st that negotiations for the stabilisation loan had been concluded, caused the Peasants' leader (M. Maniu) to declare that mobilisation of their forces was proceeding, and they intended to seize the Government before December. —Australian Press Association.
