"NO CONTROL."

" WEST (# BROADWAY." QUEEN'S THEATRE, TO-DAY. ' There is no end to tho possibilities of the radio. Harrison Ford goes so far as,;to win a horea race by remote control in "No Control," a new Metropblitan picture, co-featur-ing . Ford; and Phyllis Haver, which comes to the .Queen.'s Theatre this week.

A trick circus horse, is entered in a race. The horse, however, would rather-dance than show his hopfs on the Turf. The only thing that speeds him up is dread of a lion .used in his preliminary training. Unable to use the lion at the'track on the day of the big race, Ford hits upon the plan of gaining access to a radio broadcasting Btation, accompanied by Numa, the huge jungle cat. A:i aerial is placed on the horse's Lead, and when the lion roars into the microphone the horse. tears down the track madly to win the iace.

Phyljis Haver, the golden-haired comedienne of the screen, is oc-foatured in "No Control," which Scott Sidney directed. Priecilla Dean, whose chief business in life is to furnish thrills to her multitude of admirers all over the world, has finally evolved a super-thrill in hor new P.D.C. feature, "West of Broadway." which is the second feature. The Weßt that was and the 'West that is, with knickered cowpuncbefs and cattledotted golf links, six guns' and ukulele, is graphically pictured. The film shows a topsy-turvy West, where the wild riders of the range chew gum, work only eight hours and play golf the rest. Miss Dean's portrayal as the mannish golf instructor is superb. It isn't falling out of aeroplanes; racing automobiles, or battling cops, but teaching hard-boiled cowpunchers and cattle-rustlers how to play golf. ~ It sounds .easy, but cowboys, as tho picture demonstrates, aren't the enthusiastic golf fans one would suppose them to be.

Arnold Grey, Majel Coleman, Walter Long, William Austin, and George Hall play important parts with poi6e and skill. If you are looking for novel screen fare, you should see "West of Broadway." It is a capital show. The supports include a News, N.Z. scenic, aid two comedies.
