BEACH RACES.
PIONEER SPORTS CLUB. Pioneer. Sports Club's first bescn races of the Mason were held at North Beach on oatnrday afternoon, a good attendance being present. The beach was in good order for the events, and tho two races provided some excellent racing. Les Monkman waa in great form and secured second place in the four miles event, attaining s speed of 78 miles per hour. He was also* performing well in the twelve mfl® race when iiw chain broke, necessitating his retirement. G. Hockley, who last year was the club s champion, again showed form, the twelve mile race.
