WONDERFUL SUCCESS PREDICTED.
Providing the weather keeps on good behaviour everything points to the Metropolitan Show at Addington next Thursday and Friday being a pronounced - success.
The Canterbury A. and P. Association's Show brings together easily the largest and best collection of stock ever gathered in New Zealand, and there is not the slightest doubt that no other show but Christchurch could gather together the sheep seen at Addington. There will be no fewer thani 1000 pens of sheep, • beside which the sheep'-entries at other shows looks quite puny. ."■■'■ . . The public dearly loves a horse, and light horse enthusiasts have combined to make the entries in this class the finest seen at the Addington Show Ground for ten years past. In view of the advent of the motor-car it is indeed pleasing to note the wonderful entries which have been made. Interested watchers will find amusement in hunting, pony jumping, and trotting on a scale that has not been common in even the last twenty years. The cattle entries are also excellent, representing the various- well-known breeds which are featured every year at the Show. . ~ , The entries in the section in which ladies are primarily interested are better than ever before and are well worth seeing, particularly the cooking and fancy work. ' ' ■ Special provision has been made to cater for the convenience of motorists, enabling them to get in and out of the ground with greater ease. Wniteleigh avenue facilities have been trebled and a new entrance secured close to Lincoln road, whilst the oW entrance near Leamington street has been doubled in size. Inside the grounds a special new parking area has Seen laid out.
