TENNIS IN FRANCE.
AN ENTERTAINMENT TAX. (CHITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —BY BLECTRIO TELEOKAPH—COPYRIGHT.) PARIS, October 20. The Treasury's decision to levy an entertainment tax on national international lawn tennis tournaments, caused consternation in the French Federation, which regards,it is a distinct blow to the maintenance of French prestige in the game. Also the Federation, as a countermove, has prohibited inter-club tournaments, and has relinquished the right to hold the Davis Cup finals, which will probably be transferred to Brussels.— Australian Press Association, United Service. >
