TWO YEARS' PROBATION.
* (IHSSfI ASSOCZATIOIf TZLEOBAJI.) GISBORNE, August 27. In the Magistrate's Court. William Henry Joseph Danvers, aged twentytwo, pleaded guilty to the theft of articles of clothing at Mastert,on and was sentenced to two years' probation. Accused, in a statement to the police, said that he was glad he had been caught, because he was beginning to realise he had made a fool of himself. Accused incurred debt from one end of the North Island to the other, staying at the best hotels,, .and disappearing without paying, : his bills.. .. , , : '
