FAMOUS FLYERS.

WELCOMED TO HAWAII. FUTURE PLANS REVEALED. i (TOWED PRESS ASSOCIATION—BY KLECTBIC TELEGBATH—COrYKIGHT.) HONOLULU, July 6. Ten military airplanes escorted the Sonoma into harbour. A committee, representing the Chamber of Commerce, the National Aeronautic Association, and the Territorial Aeronautic Committee met Captain Lyon and Mr Warner, and took them te breakfast at the Oahu Country Club. Mi Herbert Ordway and their manager, Mr Mitchell, will not make announcements of their plans until the Community luncheon at noon to-day. Captain Lyon admitted privutolv that he intends to make a flight later with Captain Lancaster. The airmon left Australia with two kangaroos, and arrived at Honolulu with three, one being born en route. Five hundred Americans welcomed the Americans and Captain Lancaster and Mrs Miller at a community luncheon. The Gcftnernor, Mr Wallace Parrington, led three cheers for all the aviators. Captain Lyon said: I am glad to reach my own laud, though we had a wonderful welcome in Australia. We aro now entering upon a project which should be better yet. Mr Warner said: "We bring to America tho kind thoughts of Australia." Ho announced that their plans were to devote their activities to tho development and application of radio to aerial navigation. Mrs Miller and Captain Lancaster were introduced, but they did not speak at the luncheon, and their definite plans were not announced. —Australian Press Association.

ATLANTIC FLIGHT PLANNED. (Received July Bth, 5.5 p.m.) HONOLULU, July 7. Captain Harry Lyon, Captain Lancaster, and Mrs Miller are sailing for San Francisco. They are planning to fly from Croydon to New York.—Australian Press Association. WILKINS GOES DANCING. (Received July Bth, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, July 7. A message from Greenwich (Connecticut) sayß that Sir Hubert Wilkins and Lieutenant Eielson attended a dance on the roof garden of a local inn, motoring there from New York. Other guests included personal friends of the flyers, of whom many are i,n prominent positions in aviation and civil interests. The flyers gave interesting accounts of their flight, and acknowledged the courtesy of their hosts. Australian Press Association.
