£SO IN GOODS STOLEN.
BURGLARS AT CASHMERE. Burglars were active round about the bottom of Dyer's Pass road at midnight on Sunday. Miss Cullopy, who rents the dressmaker's'and tobacconist's shop at the corner of Cashmere road and Colombo street, owned by Mr Granger, who lives nearby, had some £SO worth of dress inodefs, cigarette and tobacco filched as the result of their efforts. Thev smashed the electric globe at the tram shelter just by, and under cover of darkness prised open the front door of the shop, and operations began. They i»ere evidently disturbed, because when Miss Cullopy and the police arrived at 6.30 yesterday uiorning, there were signs of a hasty retreat, though the robbers had not neglected to take their spoil with them. Residents on the opposite side of the road heard the noise as the electric bulb was broken, but thought nothing of it. The marauders also tried hard but vainly to get into the store of the Cashmere garage. The padlock resisted their efforts.
