SWIMMING.
MISS STOCKLEY AGAIN WINS. (Received March 4th, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 4. Misses Ena Stocklcy and Kathleen Millar participated in a swimming carnival at tho municipal baths, Wellington, where they were given a civic reception. Miss Stocklcy the ladies' 50yds Serabel race, also the mixed relay race, and in the 50yds handicap was seen at her best, her time being 29 seconds. SOUTHBROOK SCHOOL SPORTS. The Southbrook School swimming races were held on Friday afternoon. There was a, large number of spectators. The following were the successful competitors: — Girls—Learners: Adoree Lowe 1, Betty Xewton 2, Hayes 3. 25ydfl Championship: Lily Maynard 1, Amy Hancox 2, Helen Mcintosh 3. 25yds Handicap: Hazel Williams 1, Lily Maynard 2, Helen Mcintosh 3. Diving: Lily Maynard 1, Amy Hancox 1, May Hancox 3. Relay Race, girls v. boys: The girls were the winners. The team comprised Lily Maynard, Amy Ham ox, and Helen Mcintosh. Walk across: Beverley Hayes 1, Celea Watkins 2. Boys—Learnera: Douglas Stevenson 3, Grahtm Williamson 2, Henry Boshead 3. 03yds Championship: Charlie Tulley 1, Syd. Williamson 2, J. Stevenson 3. 25yds Handicap: C. Tulley 1, S. Williamson 2, J. Stevenson 3. Diving: S. Williamson J, G. Williamson 2, C. Tully 3. Springboard Diving: S. Williamson 1, C. Tulley 2, G. Williamson 3. Walk across: Duncan Stevenson 1, Allen Stevenson 2. There were several coin scrambles, which caused a good deal of amusement. After the races, the adults indulged in swimming. HARKER BROWN CUP. The Christchurch Amateur Swimming Club held its final distance for the Harker Brown Cup, at Redcliffa yesterday morning The distance was 220 yards; ten competitors faced the starter, Mr J. R. Buchanan. The limit men, Mitten and Burford made, the pace for the first 50 yards, where they were c&ught by E. Robson and F. S. Jennings, and raced in this order until 50 yards froni home, where Robson drew away and won by half a yard. The result was: —E. Robson (40sec) 1, A. J. Curtis (30sec) 2, F. S. Jennings (45sec) 3, E. Turgis (scr) 4. The points for the cup are:—A. J. Curtis and F. S. Jennings (equal), 6 points 1; E. Turgis, F. A. Jennings, and E. Robson (equal) -1 points, 2; R. Curtis, 3 points, 3.
