fine attractions promised. After an absence of five months, Mr E. ,T. Gravcstock. the well-known entrepreneur, arrived irom America by the Niagara last -nee!;. "I have succeeded, said Mr Gravestock in an interview, "in securing some great artists for Australia and New Zealand. The first attraction will be the popular British singers, Miss Amy Evans, the distinguished Welsh soprano, and Mr Fraser Gauge, the popular [Scottish baritone. Both have been singing in America with success since their tour of the Dominion seven years ago. They will commence ill Wellington on April 14th, and will be supported by an eminent Rumanian pianist, Gregoire Alexandresco. These artists will be' followed later in the year by a-boy pianist, Sliura Cherka6sky. Although only sixteen years of age, he has been playing throughout the music centres of the world for the past three years. His artistic development has been in the hands of Josef Hofman, the famous American pianist, in consultation with Padercwski and Rachmaninoff, and he is considered by the musical critics as tho greatest find of this generation. "A new style of entertainment which has become extremely popular in Europe and America is that offered by Miss Ruth Draper and Miss Cornelia Otis Skinner, two very fiiio actresses who in' Europe and America respectively havo developed unique gifts for holding, swaying, and amusing an audience single-handed with original character sketches. Miss Skinner will commence a tour of Australia and New Zealand in Sydney at the end of May. She is the daughter of the famous American actor, Otis Skinner. Miss Skinner studied in Paris at tho Coracdio Francaisc, and at tho Theatre du Vieux Colombier, following with four years' stage experience in Xew York. "Other engagements made for and ISKIO are Signoriua Dusolina Ginimini, ill my opinion the best soprano singer to come to the front of recent years. Backhaus, the popular German pianist, who liad such a phenomenal tour of New Zealand two years ago, returns next year. He is at present in liurope, anil in a letter I received from him in New York lie wished to be kindly remembered to his many friends in the Dominion. Ijcvitski, the Russian pianist., who visited N'ew Zealand with such success seven years ago, has also been signed up for 19;i0. He made his first appearance in London last year, creating an extraordinary furore. He is at present engaged on a tour of France, Germany, < Norway, and Sweden, with a return tour in England during the coming spring season."
