"GOOD FRIDAY."
In its production of Masefield's "Good Friday," the Canterbury College Drama St-ciety has sho-.ro that its aim is to present some of the best there is in modern drama. That the public does appreciate such work, thus meriting the confidence placed in it, is demonstrated by the fact that this play has already been produced five times, each time to a capacity house. Various factors contribute to this great success: the dramatist's skilful touch, investing » noble theme with much poetic beauty and creating a tense atmosphere by the manner in which the action is unfolded; the sympathetic and artistic rendering the play receives from the hands of the actors, on the more mechanical side of the production, the excellent stage setting and the beautiful effects upon it of- light and shade. No ohter performance of this play except the matinee on Saturday is as yet announced. Intending patrons are therefore advised to book their sjats early.
