CRYSTAL PALACE.
AH the essentials of powerful drama are present in generous measure in "Sew York," now showing at Crystal Palace, and there is a sufficient leaven of genuine comedy, and as a background there is an original and charming love romance. Briefly the story ia that of a jazz-band leader in the East End of New York, who wins the Jove of a West End heiress, and is about_ to marry her when he. is accused of having committed a murder. Circumstantial evidence is so strong against him that a jury unanimously finds him guilty, and he seems destined to a felon's death, when a member of his jazz band adduces fresh evidence which results in the real criminal making a full confession, enabling rhe author to round off his tale with a well-merited after" ending. The stars are Rlcardo Cortez, William Powell, Norman Taylor, and Estelle Taylor. ~.„., . T The second feature is "A Girl or London," starring Genevieve Townsend.
