Circumstantial evidence is so strong against him that a jury unanimously finds him guilty, and he seems destined to a felon's death, when a member of his jazz band adduces fresh evidence which results in the real criminal making a full confession, enabling rhe author to round off his tale with a well-merited after" ending.
