DRAINAGE BOARD.

THE MONTHLY MEETING. The Christchurch Drainage Board met last night. Present were: Messrs H. J. Otley . (chairman), H. G. Livingstone, W. Large, A. T. Smith, C. S. McOully, C. Hill, E. H. S. Hamilton, J. W. Beanland, C. S. Bingham, W. R. Carey, and' W. J. Walter. Accounts amounting to £7518 17s Id on the general account and £29,467 2s 5d on the No. .7, loan account were passed for payment.

It was decided that the matter of raising a further sum of £70,000 be left in the hands of the committee, with power to aot. The Pumping Station engineer reported that during the.month of June 805,580 tons -were pumped to the farm. During June, 1926, 801,816 tons were pumped, and for the corresponding period in 1925 the quantity was-1,117,281- tons. The-average depth in the suction tank was 11 feet 5 inches.- .
