WELLINGTON CHAMPIONSHIPS. (PEBSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, July 19. The Wellington amateur boxing championships were decided to-night. The finals resulted:— Paper-weight—K. Webb (7st) beat L. C. Higgs (6st 41b). . Bantam-weight—H. Larsen (Bst lib) beat C. Hurne (7st 81b), retaining his title. .Feather-weight—G. Adams (9st) beat J. Cotterill (Bst 131b). Welter-weight—P. J. Stone (lOst 51b) beat T. Urwin (9st 111b). Light-weight—E. Morgan (9st 111b) beat T. Papps (9st 51b) in less than half a minute in a semi-final, and as T. Urwin had not recovered from the battering about he received in the final of the welter-weight, E. Morgan won the light-weight final by default. Heavy-weight—W. E. Tyree beat H. G. Rags dale. Middle-weight—L. Turner (list lib), of Blenheim, beat N. P. Croft (lOst 31b). Fly-weight—C. Hume (7st 81b) beat B. Killeen (7st 91b).
