PHENOMENAL PRICES IN LONDON. EARLY ARRIVAL AMAZES DEALERS. (Sydkm "S«»" l-avio.) (Received' April 6th, 8 p.m.) LONDON, April 5. Covent Garden marketers are wondering why New Zealand's, tat fruit arrivals are ten days ahead of Aus tralia's, which is unprecedented. It is stated that this is due not only to the lateness of the Australian seaTon, but to the fact that the New Zealand Fruit Board arranged for the hrst consignment to be sent by a mail boat, affording the growers a definite date for picking and speedy shipment Dealers are marvelling at the phenomenal' price of New Zealand Coxes at priv/e sales. West E«I Ajtaj doubt whether the prices of 40s to 60s per case will again be realised. These prices were due to the eagerness of wealthy people to obtain fresh apples, they being tirod of stale American apples from storage.
