BOWLING.

CANTERBURY CENTRE. A mcetiug of tho Canterbury Bowling Centre was bcld last night, Air H. B. Oakey presiding. The Dominion Centre wrote granting tho Canterbury Centre permission to hold a> tournament af Easter. It was reported that a South Australian team would makoto tour of tho Dominion in March of next year. Tho date fixed for the OtagoCanterbury match is February 24th. The matter of making suitable arrangements for the social was left in the hands of tho Entertainment Committee. The report of the Match Committee stated that the annual match between Canterbury and Wellington had been very successful, and, considering tho many dilticultics that had to be surmounted, the Canterbury team had done very well. Tho Wellington peoplo had been very hospitable, and were looking forward to tho return visit next year. The final of the Pennant Competition was played last Saturday between Canterbury i.nd Edgcwaro. The committee felt turo that the Centre's congratulations would go to the winning team. Entries for the.champion of champions pair* closed last night, and tho games would commcn:o next Saturday. The report was adopted. A motion was passed that ft letter be sent to the Wellington Centre thanking it for the hospitality shown to the Canterbury players. It waa moved that a cub-commi'.t-c le set up to go into the matter of securing representative badges, in addition to li'O Centre badges. The motion was carried, ana Messrs ii. B Oakey, F. J. Good, G. Smithson, and W. Efford were set up as the mb-eora-mittcc.

AKAROA GAMES.

On Saturdar, several car-loads of about 42 people came down from Leeston and were encaged with the local bowlers and Domain tennis players during the afternoon.
