* MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executivo of tho Military Pageant Committee was held yesterday, Colonel N. W. B. B. Thorns presiding. . ~ Permission wa3 received from tiie Citv Council to hold a street collection for the Queen Carnival on April Ist. It wa? reported that the Grounds Committee had met that afternoon and gone into the question of stana accommodation. It was hoped to get the Trotting Club's big stand free ot charge. It was also hoped to get a quantity of timber from the R*'W Apartment, which would «»|jf» stand to be erected to accommodate 1300 peopleV4l.e cost of the stand to be iSmSetBO. If the timber couia not hV obtained, however, it would be Pessary to erect another stand, which wWScommodate but which would cost about £3/0. The report was-adopted.
