WEDDINGS.

CAIN—COSKIE. At. S. Thomas's Church, Woodbury, a very pretty wedding was solemnised recently, when Miss Frances Coskie was united in the bonds of matrimony to Mr Gordon Cain. The Rev. H. M. Cocks was tho officiating minister, and Mrs 0. M. Burdon was organist. Tho bride, who entered tho church on the arm of Mr H. J. Mcintosh, who subsequently gave her away, wore a beautiful frock of white satin, a filmy tulle veil, and tho customary orange blossoms, and carried a pretty bridal bouquet. * ' ' The bridesmaids were Miss A. Bell, who wore a dainty frock of mauve georgette, -and Miss Ivy Cain (sister of the bridegroom), whose frock was of powder blue marocain. The bride's two little step-sisters, Misses Dulcie and Ruby Mcintosh, were flower-girls, their pretty frocks being of pale green and pale pink marocain respectively. All carried bouquets of sweetpeas to tone with their frocks. The bridegroom : was supported by Mr Owen Coskie, brother of the bride, as best man, and Mr Owen Evans was groomsman. After the ceremony, a reception was held by Mrs Turton at "Waihi Bush," the beautiful grounds being idearfor the purpose, with their well-kept lawns and flowerbeds, and background of native bush. When Mr and Mrs Gordon Cain left for their wedding trip, the bride was wearing an ensemble suit of crushed strawberry crepe de chine, her hat being of black crinoline straw, and she wore n smart tailored coat.

MATHESON—BARRELL. A wedding of considerable interest to the residents of Kangioru took place on Wednesday of last week, when Miss Beatrice A. Barrel!, tho eldest daughter of Mr Mar'. Barrell, one of the oldest residents of the borough, was married to Mr James P. Matheson, of Hongo'mai,Ekctahuna, the only surviving son of Mr William B. Matheson, the Dominion vice-president of the Farmers' Union. The marriage, which was' after the manner of the Religious Society of Friends, took place at a u -eting for worship, which was held at the residence of Mrs Gerald Beattio. Ashley street, Rangiora, the sister or the bride. Th bridesmaid was Miss Vera Barrell and Mr lan Anderson, of.Kurow, Central Otago, was the best man. Those present were Mr Mark Barrell, the father of the bride, Mr and Mrs Gerald Beattie, Mr and Mrs W. B. Matheson, of Rongomni, the father and mother of the bridegroom, who sailed for England on Friday, Mr and Mrs Henrv Wardell, of Otama-te-paio, Central Otago, Miss Matheson, of Havelock North, Miss Molly Matheson, of Itongomai, Mr Duncan Anderson, of Kurow, Mr and Mrs Philip J. Thorno and the Misses Margaret and Mary Thorne, of Sefton. After the ceremony, the guests were taken by motor to Woodend Beach, whore a dainty wedding'breakfast was served, and the afternoon spent as a picnic.
