A case in which the expenses totalled 500 times the amount of the claim came before the National Wages Board for Railways in London. Tho application was made by a fireman of Colwick, Lanes., for payment of titrio occupied in travelling home from Manchester, his destination, two years ago. Mr May (a member of tho Board): This claim would appear to involve something like 6s altogether, and I should like to know what is tho expense of.bringing this claim first before the Central Wages Board and now before this Board? Mr Bromley: At a conservative estimate I should say the expense is HOO times the amount of the sum claimed. The Board reserved its decision.
