Won by four lengths; Ferguson two lengths further back. Time, lmin 10 2-sscc. One Mile Cycle Championship—First heat: I'Anson (Canterbury) 1, Byrnes (Auckland) 2, Flctt (Wellington) 3. Also started, Adamson (Wongantii-Tansnaki), Bray (Auckland), Ferguson (Canterbury), Nicholson (Otago). I'Anson went to the front in tho fourth lap and stalling oS challenges from Byrnes and Flett, won by half a length with tho third man a wheel further back. Time, 2min 87 2-Sscc. Second heat: Groso (Canterbury) 1, Lamb (Victoria) 5, Oakley (Wellington) 3. Also started. Harrison (Wellington), Stenning (Wanganui-Taranaki), Douglaa (Auckland), Boss (Wanganui-Taranaki). On the lest lap, Grose went out in front, with Lamb in pursuit, but tho latter was beaten by a clear length. Oakley was fivo lengths further back, and Douglas, who qualified for the final through Lamb being ineligible for the title, finished a few yards in tho rear. Time, 2min X) 3-ssec.

Three Miles Cycle Championship—First heat: Grose (Canterbury) 1, Oakley (Wellington) 3, Byrnes (Auckland) 3. Also started, Blskeway (Auckland). Adamson (WanganuiTaranaki), Harrison (Wellington), Nicholson (Otago). Grose and Oakley fought out a stirring race, tho former winning by a clear length. Byrnes was half a length away third. Time, Bmin 6 3-ssec. Second heat: Larmb (Victoria) 1, I'Anson (Canterbury) 3, Casey (Auckland) 3. Also started, Boss (Wanganui-Taranaki), Stenning (WanganuiTaranaki), Flett (Wellington), Ferguson (Canterbury). Lamb made a great effort in the final lap and with i well-sustained run, won with'ease by three lengths from I'Anson, with Casey third. Ferguson was fourth, and qualifies in the final. Savida'n, tho Auckland champion, and ho did not disappoint his supporters, Ho won very easily in ISmin 9scc, which time is Usee faster than standard, and 18 2-ssec faster than Rose's winning time last year. Had Savidsn been pushed ho would havo broken 15min without difficulty. Two other Aucklanders, Kells and Brown, formerly of Otago, were second and third.

Competing In his first New Zealand championships since his return from South Africa, E. G. Sutherland showed that he has not lost his prowess in tho field by winning tho running brood jump and putting tho 161b shot championship. J. Lynch, who won the Auckland broad jump championship last Saturday with a leap of 21ft lOin, two inches further than Sutherland's effort to-dßy, failed disappointingly, and was not placed. The Wellington ladies had a walk over in tho relay championship through _ Auckland defaulting, owing to tho provincial champion, Miss M. McNeil, straining her in training before tho race. It is extremely doubtful whether she will atari in the championship to-morrow. Tho men's relay was won by Wellington after an exciting contest with tho WanganuiTaranaki team. The Dominion sprint champion, M. Leadbctter, ran excellently, and won his heals of both tho sprint champion•hips- . . . .. Soino great racing is promised in tho cycling finals to-morrow, when R. W. Lamb, Iho Victorian champion, F. Grose, C. Flett, T. Oskley, snd M. P. Byrnes content for championship honours.
