HEATHCOTE COUNTY.
LAST NIGHT'S MEETING.
Last night tho Hoathcoto County Council held its ordinary meeting. Present—Crs. 0. .Flavell (chairman), B. Riley, J. H. Moore, W. Kerr, J'. F. Scott, J: L. Danks, and W. Scarff.
Prior to the ordinary meeting a ipecial meeting waa held, when a special order regarding the workers' dwellings, Cashmere, was confirmed. The Council resolved, by way of special order, a g follows:—"To raise a special loan of £2OOO for tho purpose of erecting workers' dwellings in the Cashmere Hiding; that the said loan be called the Cashmere workers' dwelling loan; that the currency of tho said loan bo for a period of twenty (20) years, sinking fund 2 per cant., commencing at the date of the said loan, and bearing interest at the rate £xed by the Minister for Finance, and payable half-yearly; and that the eaid loan and interest and sinking fund thoreon shall be secured by a special rate upon the rateable property within the aaid Cashmero Biding in the County of Heathcote." ' The Inspector reported on tho progress of loading work in the Avon, Bromley, Killsborough, Mount Pleasant, Valley, and Cashmere Ridings in the county.
