Tu the Sheffield Shield match, Victoria in their second innings are 461 for fix (Pomford U6, Hendry 137, Baring 73, Millar 64). Slow "coring characterised the early part nf Victoria's innings to-day. It wag no t long before Ponsford was vorked by Uayefl. The first wicket p-ut on 225. Hendry and Baring carried on determinedly, the former beinp attractive at times. Hornibrook kept the batsmen very quiet. Bowling changes were made frequently, bnt they were unable to shift the batsmen. When th» score was 297, however, Hornibrook got Hendry legbefore. Baring and Miliar then, by confident play, lonic ths score to 870, when Baring was caught.
