WORLD COURT.

UNITED STATES RESERVATIONS. LITTLE HOPE OF PARTICIPATION. (BT CABM—FRIBS ASSOCIATION—COPTWOHI.) (AUSTBALIAS AttD It.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION) WASHINGTON, February 9. As President Coolidgc announced that ho would not reopen the subject if the Senate reservations to the World Court protocol were not accepted without change, the United States, apparently, stands definitely outside the tribunal, since three foreign Governmeats have advised the State Department of their decision to ask for a modification of the reservations. It was ascertained to-day that forma] notifications had been received from Great Britain and two undisclosed nations. The Senate refuses on the ground that it is unnecessary to take up a resolution proposing that the Senate's ratification of the protocol be rescinded. BRITAIN REJECTS RESERVATIONS. (AUSTRALIA!? AN'P TT-Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) WASHINGTON, February 9. Great Britain and some other EuroI*an Government have ultimately replied to the United States' proposal to enter the World Court with reservations. The replies are substantially a rejection, and the British answer follows generally the Geneva Conference counter-reservations to the Senate reserrations, which President Coolidge and many senators believe are unacceptable. The Senate reservations would give tho United States a vote power over any dispute presented to the court In wliich-the United States has, or claims to have, an interest. The counter reservations would give the United States equaJ power with other Council members in relation to the court, but whether the latter now have the vote power is at present disputed.
